Congratulations to all Clare athletes who competed in the Munster Indoor Championships in Nenagh on Sunday.

Clare AAI will hold their Annual General Meeting in the Auburn Lodge Hotel Ennis on Wednesday April 15'th at 8.00pm.

Motions and Nominations should be sent to Mr Vincent McCarthy, Kilnaboy, Ennis, Co Clare, closing date for receipt of same is April 8'th.



Days 1 & 2 of the Juvenile Track & Field Championships (including shot) will be held on Saturday and Sunday May 9'th and 10'th.

Day 3 will incorporate the Juvenile Throws AND the Senior Championships and will be held on Wednesday evening May 20'th at 6.00pm. 


Please be advised that the closing date for receipt of fully completed transfer forms is Wednesday March 25'th.

Completed Forms to be sent to Mr Vincent McCarthy, Kilnaboy, Ennis, Co Clare.


The Clare AAI 4 Mile Road Championships were held in Kilnaboy on Sunday February 15'th.

Clare athletes were in outstanding form at the National Championships in Tuam on Sunday last taking home two individual titles, five County Gold team medals, two County team silver medals, three Club gold team medals and three club bronze medals medals along with a host of other athletes in the top twelve places. Huge crowds turn out for the Clare AAI Indoor Championships 2015 held in Nenagh on Sunday January 25'th.

Another great day in Nenagh with fantastic competition in all events. The high jumps were again well supported and with up to 5 heats in some races, entries were again up on previous years. 47 Juvenile Records were set this year, a testament to the fantastic work being done in Athletics in Clare across all Clubs. The County Board would like to acknowledge and Thank all officials who helped make the day another great success.

The Annual Clare AAI Sports Star Awards for 2014 were held in the Auburn Lodge Hotel Ennis on Friday night. There was a very large turn out for the event to honour both our Juvenile and Senior athletes, with 49 awards presented on the night by Munster Chairman Mossie Wolfe.
A fantastic night was had by all and the County Board would like to thank all who attended for making this yet another memorable night!

The Clare A.A.I. Relay trials to select teams for the Munster inter county relays which are being held in Waterford IT on January 11th were held at Lees Road on Saturday last in ideal conditions, All clubs were well represented with some very closely contested races. the top five athletes in each race were selected to represent Clare. The following are the Teams


The Clare AAI Sports Star Awards for 2014 will be held in the Auburn Lodge Hotel Ennis on Friday January 9'th 2015. The meal will be starting at 7.30pm sharp and music will be provided by John Carey.

The Juvenile Cross Country Relays and Novice B were held in Clonlohan Newmarket-on-Fergus on Sunday. There was a great turnout for the relays again this year and a  very testing course gave some brilliant finishes..

The National Novice and Juvenile Uneven Ages were held in Santry in very testing conditions on Sunday. Underfoot conditions were slippy and a tight course added to the difficulty. However, Clare athletes again acquitted themselves very well, results are available Here...

The Munster Uneven Ages and Intermediate Cross Country Championships were hosted by Clare AAI in Dromoland on Sunday. There was a huge turnout for the Championships with Clare athletes featuring very prominently winning numerous individual, club and county medals.

The Clare AAI Juvenile B and Senior Championships were held today in Ralahine Newmarhet-on-Fergus on a very testing course. A few heavy showers failed to dampen the spirits and there was a huge turnout in the Juvenile Championships. You can see some Photos from today Here...

This year we have a new course in Ralahine Newmarket on Fergus,
on the road From Newmarket On Fergus to Sixmilebridge about 4 miles
From Sixmilebridge, on the lands of Pat Gilligan, Hosted by B.M.O.H. The event will take place on November 2'nd.

Four Clare athletes take National Titles in Tullamore.

The National Juvenile U/14’s to U/19 Track and Field Championships held over two days in Tullamore and Clare athlete came away with four gold, three silver, and six bronze medals. Read more Here...


Gearoid McMahon sets Munster Record at Track and Field in Cork I. T.

The Munster Juvenile U/14’s to U/19 Track and Field Championships were held over two days at Cork I. T. where Clare athlete came away with Twenty Five Gold, Twenty Two Silver and Twenty bronze medals.  

This has to be the best ever performances by Clare athletes at any Munster championships... Read more here...

The Clare AAI Juvenile Track & Field Championships 2014 Day 3

Hugh turnout at Juvenile Track and Field Championships in Lees Road.

The Clare Athletics Association Juvenile Track and Field Championships Day 3 was held on Saturday last in cold and damp conditions at the Lees Road Sports Complex and some fine victories recorded Alex Mc Conway St Cronans taking the boys U/14’s Javelin, Discus, and Hammer, Boys U/16’s Stephen Maher Ennis Track winning the Javelin and Hammer, Girls U/17’s a great double to Lauren Mc Conway St Cronans in the Javelin and Discus and Barry Loughnane St Cronans recording a treble in the boys U/17’s Javelin, Discus, and Hammer. The U/18’s Chloe Mc Aleer Shannon taking the Javelin and Hammer, boys U/18’s Kevin Conlon Tulla taking Javelin, Discus and Hammer. Alice Akers Marian winning the girls U/19’s Discua and Hammer with Seamus Mc Mahon Shannon taking the U/19’s Discus and Hammer.

Hugh turnout at Juvenile Track and Field Championships in Lees Road.

The Clare Athletics Association Juvenile Track and Field Championships were held over two days at the Lees Road Sports Complex. These Championships were held on Saturday in very wet conditions with Sunday again another damp day. Over 300 athletes took part over both days and there were many star performances. The Munster Juvenile Track and Field Championships for U/9’s to U/13’s will take place on the 7th and 8th June at the Lees Road Sports Complex and the U/14’s to U/19’s on Saturday and Sunday 28th and 29th June.

Please note that for Health & Safety reasons, Throws for ages 14 and up, will be held on a seperate evening, details of which will be circulated later...





Two Clare athletes smash National Records at the awsome AIT Indoor arena at the weekend...

On Saturday, Gearoid McMahon broke the U15 1000m walk record by 3 seconds, finishing in a time of 4:20; while on Sunday, Alex O'Neill broke the U15 800m record, also by 3 seconds, in a time of 2:16.

Athlete of the weekend, Tony Odubote, brought home a haul of 3 medals; Gold in the U15 60m, Silver in the U15 Long Jump and Bronze in the U15 60m Hurdles. Also taking Gold in a fantastic U16 1500m race, Aisling Kelly who led from the gun, destroyed the field finishing in a time of 4:55. Also, in the boys U16 1500m, Eoin O'Looney took Silver finishing in a time of 4:20. Finishing a trio of brilliant 1500m races, Laura Power also took Silver finishing in a time of 4:51 in the Girls U19. Also taking Silver in the U19 Triple Jump, Rachel Clancy jumped 9:61.

In the U12 600m a fantastic race from Ellie Pike brought home the Silver medal in a time of 1:51 while Gabriel Kehinde took Bronze in the U14 60m's in a time of 7:97.

Well Done to all Clare Athletes who competed so well over the two days showing that Clare Athletics is in a very strong position..

The Clare AAI Indoor Championships were held on Sunday January 26'th in Nenagh. A huge turn out of over 400 juvenile athletes helped make this one of the most successful County Championships yet with great excitement evident in all athletic disciplines.

Congratulations to all the Award winners who were honoured at an Awards night on January 10'th in the Auburn Lodge Hotel Ennis.

Awards were presented by Mr Mossie Wolf, Chairman of Munster AAI, and special guest and award winner Mr Sean Hehir winner of the Dublin City Marathon 2013.

A 4th place finish for Clare in Woodies DIY National League Final in Tullamore.

   The final of the National League took place in Tullamore, and Clare athletes  battled defiantly with some of the finest competitors in the country.. Read more here...

Rory Chesser Takes National Title in Santry.
 
The Athletics Association of Ireland National Track and Field Championships were held over two day in Santry Stadium and a host of Irish stars were taking part and looking for big performances before going to the World Championships and Clare athlete has made the big step up  with Rory Chesser Ennis Track has been performing very well over track races in England and on Sunday he was taking part in the 3000metres steeplechase for the fourth year... read more Here...

The Munster Juvenile “B” Track and Field Championships for U/9’s to U/16’s was held in very warm weather conditions at the Riocht A. C. Track in Castleisland Co Kerry and Clare athletes captured 15 gold medals, 15 silver and 9 bronze medals...

Conor Blake set a new National Record at National Juvenile Track and Field Championships in Tullamore.  

The National Juvenile Track and Field Championships U/12’s to U/19’s were held in Tullamore on Saturday and Sunday and over two days and a very big Week End for all Clare athletes and Day one Tony Odubote Ennis Track taking gold in the U/14’s 75metres hurdles and Karl Fitzmaurice Shannon winning the boys U/19’s 3000metres Steeplechase.     Read More Here...

The Munster Juvenile U/9, U/10, U/11 2 x 2 team events plus boys and girls U/12 and U/13 Track and Field Championships held over two days in sweltering heat at the Lees Road Sports Complex with Clare athletes coming away with Eight gold, Five silver and Ten bronze medals.... Read more Here... 


The Third Race in the Clare AAI Summer Series takes place this Thursday May 30'th in Lees Road starting at 7.00pm.

Athletes who competed in round 1 or 2 are advised to register at 6.30pm and to bring their race number if they still have it.

New athletes must register at 6.00pm. Please download this FORM and bring the completed form with you to register.

Clare athletes in fine form at Munster Senior and Masters in Cork I. T.  

The Munster Senior and Masters Track and Field championships were held at Cork I. T. in very hot and humid weather conditions and a fine turnout of Clare athletes came away with a massive hail of medals Eighteen gold, Fourteen silver and Six bronze. Read more Here...

Two Gold for Clare Athletes in the Inagural Spring Throws Competition
 in Athlone IT.


 Clare athletes took 1st & 2nd in the Discus at the Inagural Spring Throws competition held in Athlone IT on Sunday. Eoin Hanrahan from Ennis Track took Gold in the 1.5kg Discus with a throw of over 38m in very testing throwing conditions with a very strong wind and "Spring" showers. Seamus McMahon from Shannon AC took Silver in the same competition with a throw of 34.85m.

  Seamus then went on to take Gold in the 5kg Hammer competition throwing a PB of 43.48m in the process.


The 2013 Woodies Juvenile Indoor Championships took place in Athlone this weekend. Day 2 has concluded with fantastic results from our talented Clare Athletes bringing home a Total of 12 Medals, 8 Gold, 2 Silver and 2 Bronze.

Performer of the Chamnpionships has to go to Tony Odobute of Ennis Track who brought home 2 Golds and a Silver from the weekend!

Congratulations to Niamh Conlon, Kilmihil, winning Bronze in the U12 girls 60m with Ben Whelehan, Kilmurry Ibricane North Clare, also taking Bronze in the U12 boys 600m.

Munster Race Walk Coach, Frank Lynch, will hold a Munster Squad day in Lees Road Ennis on Saturday March 9'th. The session will start at 10:30am and finish at 1:30pm and is open to all Clare race walkers aged 14 and over. This is a great opportunity to learn the finer skills of race walking covering techniques, drills etc and will be of huge benifit to budding and experienced walkers alike.
